Harleston Town stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at league leaders Acle United.
In an even start, reigning champions United went close to opening the scoring through former Town striker James Bulman, while at the other end Brendan Burke drilled a low free-kick against the post as the score remained goalless at the interval.
Town started the second half positively and finally found a breakthrough in the 65th minute in spectacular fashion as Kieran Passey seized upon a poor kick from the Acle goalkeeper to send the ball back over the stranded custodian’s head and into the net from just over the halfway line.
Acle poured forward in search of an equaliser and after Robbie Goodwin made a host of fine saves, Harleston grabbed a second on the break with five minutes remaining.
Chris Hall robbed the ball from a home defender before racing clear to slot the ball under the advancing goalkeeper.
There was just enough time for United to head home a consolation four minutes into added on time but Town held on to claim the win.
