Improved fortunes for young Diss birds
The Diss and District Racing Pigeon Club had a much improved second young bird race of 2015 after the disastrous start the previous week.
Nearly 200 birds were sent to Woking to race home to East Anglia, and were liberated at 8am.
Andy Hampton proved the victor, improving on his third place finish the previous week, with his winning bird completing the 92 mile journey in just under two hours with a velocity of 1,482 yards per minute.
Racing from his Dickleburgh lofts, Graham Seaman was not far behind in second position (vel 1,461) with one of the clubs new members taking third position – Terry Colk, from Watton, who made an impression, flying 103 miles (vel 1,446).
Lee Curtis took fifth place.
