A statement from the club's head of football Craig Trudgill read: "On behalf of the club I’d like to put on record our sincere thanks to Jon for his time at Harleston Town.

"His hard work, dedication, quality of coaching and professionalism have lifted the club to a new level in the time he has been here.

"Jon achieved the remit of promotion last season and has left the club exceeding expeditions at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Division One North Table this campaign.

"I’ve known Jon a long time now and am personally disappointed to see him depart and everyone at the club wishes him well in the future. I have no doubt he will go on to have future success in the game."

This weekend Harleston have a top-of-the-table clash with Sheringham – see Friday's Express print edition for a preview with Howell.
