Harleston Town announce agreements to sign former Wroxham duo Ollie Sutton and Tom Huckerby

Harleston Town manager Matt Halliday has started his summer recruitment drive with the addition of two new players.

Over the weekend the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club confirmed that agreements had been reached to bring in the sons of two former Premier League footballers.

Goalkeeper Ollie Sutton – son of one-time Norwich City, Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers forward Chris – and defender Tom Huckerby – son of ex-Canaries attacker Darren – will both be turning out in a Harleston shirt next term.

Sutton will arrive having made 26 appearances between the posts at higher level with Wroxham last season.

Halliday told the club’s website: “Ollie is a fantastic addition. He’s got a big presence, he’s vocal, and he knows what it takes to compete at this level.

“We’re thrilled to bring him in and can’t wait to see him in action for Harleston Town.”

Centre-back Huckerby, meanwhile, has previously turned out for the likes of Norwich United and Wroxham.

Halliday added: “Tom is exactly the type of player we’ve been looking to bring in – he’s strong, vocal, and leads by example.

“He’s got experience at this level and above, and we’re confident he’ll add real steel to our backline. I’m excited to see what he brings to the squad both on and off the pitch.”
