Harleston ace Jackson calls time on career

Steven Jackson signed off on a memorable career in motorsport by being crowned Superstox Irish Open Champion on Sunday.

The Harleston-based racer took the title t DMC Promotions, Tullyroan Raceway in Northern Ireland before confirming his retitement from racing.

The championship was the latest in a successful career in motorsport which has spanned over 25 years and has seen Jackson clinch a number of world titles in Ministox, 1300 Stock Cars and latterly in Superstox, which he has won on three occasions.

Dean Cox, who is the Corporate Manager at Spedeworth Motorsports led the tributes to Jackson.

“We would like to congratulate Steven on becoming the new 2015 Superstox Irish Open Champion and reflect on a tremendous racing career that has seen him take many world titles in a career spanning some 25 years,” he said.

“Steven and his partner Sadie are expecting their first child soon so it is time to put that happy event first and we together with his many fans wish them every happiness for the future.”
