Gissing tipped to hold their own

Gissing Bowls Club A team have been tipped to do well in their debut season in the Hansells Norfolk League.

The backing came from league secretary Tony Dunton, who was speaking at the league’s launch as Hansells Solicitors and Financial Advisers began a 12th year of backing for the Men’s Section of the Norfolk Bowls Association.

“They have never been in the Premier Division before, although they have often reached the play-offs. I think they will give everyone a good game and it will be interesting to see where they finish. I think they will cause a few upsets,” he said.

Any challenger will have to be on top form to overhaul Norfolk Bowling Club A team, who are many people’s favourites to lift the Premier Division crown for the fourth year running, while Wymondham Dell A also represent south Norfolk in the Premier.
