Garby get the better of Cromer
Garboldisham (225-9) returned to winning ways in the Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division on Saturday, getting the better of Cromer (180) by 45 runs.
Home skipper Danny Cash won the toss and decided to bat first on an extremely dry pitch.
Henry Phoenix top-scored for Garboldisham with 38 runs, while Kieran Pask (37), Tom Davey (36) and Cash (32no) all made useful contributions without going on to post big scores.
The hosts’ total was also helped along by a fielding side that provided them with a generous 32 extras.
In reply, Cromer got off to a positive start as openers Frankie Sutton (37) and Matthew Warnes (38) stood firm early on.
However, once that duo had been dismissed by Robert Fuller and Tom Alexander respectively, Garboldisham’s bowling attack took control of proceedings.
Alexander ended with figures of 3-24 from his 10 overs, while Matt Allin took 3-28 and Fuller 2-31 as Garboldisham bowled the visitors out for 180 runs.
It secured a third win of the campaign for Cash’s charges, who currently occupy sixth position in the table.
They go in search of victory number four tomorrow when they head to North Runcton (12pm).
The hosts are currently enjoying a positive campaign, with their six triumphs so far seeing them sit in second place.
North Runcton will go into the game having suffered a defeat at the hands of league-leading Downham Town last time out.
