Garboldisham celebrate promotion

Garboldisham Cricket Club are looking forward to local derbies against Diss and Old Buckenham in the Premier Division next season after clinching promotion by winning Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division One.

The championship was confirmed on Monday when North Runcton’s game away to Topcroft was abandoned due to the heavy rain.

It came after Garboldisham (213-5) had beat Horsford A (212) by five wickets at home on Saturday.

In total they won 12 out of their 18 games, finishing with a haul of 304 points.

Some key performers of the season were Kristian Williman, with more than 700 league runs, Rob Fuller, with 33 wickets, and Pascal Walker, with 28 dismissals from behind the stumps.

Captain Danny Cash said he was very proud of his young team and their brand aggressive cricket played in the right spirit.
