Framlingham Town set to face Lymore Gardens, FC Peterborough and Kings Park Rangers in tough run of fixtures
Framlingham Town are in the midst of a ‘tough run’ of fixtures.
Having come from behind to beat Halesworth Town 3-2 in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North on Tuesday night, the Castlemen are set to travel to in-form Lymore Gardens in the first round proper of the FA Vase tomorrow (3pm).
And that is followed by a trip to fourth-placed FC Peterborough in the league the following weekend, before Liam Abraham’s men go toe-to-toe with Kings Park Rangers in the Suffolk Senior Cup.
But while his players are set to be challenged over the coming weeks, boss Abraham is confident that the squad is a ‘good place’ to tackle each game head on.
“It’s definitely a tough run we’ve got to battle through. We’ve got the Vase, Peterborough and KPR and I’d also throw the Halesworth game into that run,” he said.
“They’re a very good side that are desperate to show they can compete, so to win there was impressive.
“It’s a tough period with those four games and we know how well we’ll have to play to get results, but we’re in a good place and it’s something we’re ready for.”
If Framlingham are to reach the second round of the FA Vase for the first time since 2017/18, they will have to overcome a Lymore side that
have started the season in positive fashion.
Of their three defeats in the equivalent-level First Division South, none have come at home and they currently lead the way at the top of the table by a three-point margin.
Abraham added: “We don’t know too much about them, but we’ve been able to watch a few clips.
“I’m expecting them to be a very technical team, one that can move the ball around well. In many ways I think they’ll be similar to ourselves.
“One thing we’re acutely aware of this season is that we have to find different ways of playing and that might be the case this weekend. We did that well at Halesworth – we showed we can mix it up.
“But it will suit us to play a side that wants to come and attack because we can hopefully do the same and exploit any spaces that are left.”
Goalkeeper Joe Potter is unavailable for the tie, while the injured Archie Exworth and Tom Northwood are also set to miss out on the trip.
