Framlingham pupil receives national call

Framlingham College’s Alex Emsden is celebrating after being selected for the England Under-16 hockey squad after coming through a number of selection camps over the past few months.

The teenager was set to play his first matches during this week’s half-term at Lilleshall against an under-17 select XI in preparation for the Easter test matches against the Dutch.

Emsden is described by his school coaches as ‘a skillful midfielder who has worked tirelessly on his game over the last few years and fully deserves his recognition on the International stage’.

Framlingham College director of sport, Simon Sinclair, added: “Everyone at the college is delighted for Alex and proud of his achievement.

“He has played an important role for the College first XI this year and we would like to wish him all the best.”
