Lamprell leads the way for Fram College
Framlingham College Prep School’s Will Lamprell returned victorious from Tuesday’s National Prep School Athletics Track and Field Championships in Birmingham.
In what would prove to be an event to remember at the Alexander Stadium, Lamprell came out on top in the Under-14 high jump thanks to his leap of 1.70m.
Lamprell also enjoyed further success in the Under-14 shot put, from which he claimed a silver medal.
And he also formed a part of the College’s 4x100m Under-14 relay squad that finished in fourth position and broke the previous school record with a time of 51.88 seconds.
Phillip Consdine, Archie Shelley-Taylor and Ben Smart were the other members of the successful relay team.
Elsewhere at the competition, which attracted 1,500 children representing 12 regions, Framlingham’s Shelley-Taylor was runner-up in the Under-14 discus with a school record-breaking throw of 35.23m.
Emma Williamson, meanwhile, also clinched a silver medal in the Under-14 75m hurdles and a bronze in the Under-14 300m, the latter of which set a new school record in 44.26 seconds.
l Lamprell and fellow pupil Chichi Oduah will be in action at the English Schools T & F Championships on July 13-14.
