Four goals condemns Diss to first defeat under Reeve
THURLOW NUNN LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Kirkley and Pakefield 4 Diss Town 0
Diss Town suffered their first defeat under new manager Mark Reeve at an impressive Kirkley and Pakefield side who proved too strong on the day.
The hosts were even able to afford the luxury of failing to converting a second-half penalty, after Matt Powley save it, on their way to victory.
Diss gave a debut to Darren Cox at left-back and Chris Greenslade returned at right back.
The Royals were ahead as soon as the 11th minute though when Ross King found space just inside the area and hit a fine shot into the top left-hand corner of the net.
They added to their lead in the 22nd minute when King scored his second after being found with a crossfield pass.
Danny Self fired past the post from a free-kick in the visitor’s best chance as Diss went into the break 2-0 behind.
Matt Powley pulled off a decent penalty save in the 60th minute, but was helpess to stop Haverson — who had looked offside — and Kyle Barker adding two more.
Diss: Powley, Greenslade, Ager, Shadrack, Cox, Brown, Self, Mitchell, Waters, Holmes, Downes.
Substitutes: Lake, Olpin, Newton, Norman, Lowe.
