In our match of the week, Diss Hawks Under-13s came out on top of a five goal thriller with Thetford Bulldogs to secure their place in the League Cup semi-finals.

It was the Bulldogs who started the brighter of the two sides and, following a period of prolonged pressure, found themselves 2-0 ahead.

Hawks refused to give up and responded strongly with an Oliver Lee’s free-kick finding Nathan Channell to head home and reduce the deficit.

With momentum behind them, Diss continued to push forward and they found themselves level before the break as a cross from Aaron Noller was inadvertently deflected in by a Thetford defender.

That pressure continued into the second half and
resulted in the Hawks completing the turnaround as Nathan Faulkner struck to put them ahead for the first time.

And with Oliver Hunt, Reece Portway and Isaac Nunn, Jacob Ready, George Bingham and Leo Abery all playing strongly, Diss held on to book their place in the last four of the competition.

There was less joy for Diss Town Under-15s who suffered an 8-0 rout at the hands of Stowupland Falcons.

In an otherwise forgetful afternoon, there were promising performances from goalkeeper Elias Clarke, Chris Disney and Will Aitken.

There was also disappointment for Scole United Under-15s who suffered a 3-0 defeat away at Attleborough Under-15s.

In their first fixture of the new year, Scole proved no match for the home side who broke the deadlock with a powerful header, before adding two further goals despite spirited displays from Oliver Kerrison, Owen Page and Josh Musk Attleborough added a third to wrap up proceedings.

Another team who struggled over the weekend was Diss Town Under-14s who went down to a 3-0 defeat at home against table-topping Thetford Bulldogs.

There were however good displays on the day from Charlie Bowen, Owen Thompson, Harry Maguire, Lucas Whittlington, Charlie Crawford, Lucas Whittlington, Tim Hurtley, Lesley Mabaleka, Alex Chittock, Ralph Slaney, Dane Potter, Kieran Allen, Archie Hewitt and Jack Burrows.
