Earsham's new joint-manager Daniel Philpott excited to be part of club's future
Following a successful stint as assistant boss of Harleston Town Reserves, Daniel Philpott is hoping for similar positive experiences at Earsham.
Along with manager James Denney, Philpott oversaw Harleston second string’s promotion-winning campaign of 2018/19 and they were fourth in the Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division Four standings when Covid-19 halted proceedings.
The duo then decided to step down from their respective positions, with Philpott swiftly getting back involved in the game as joint manager of Earsham, who have been promoted to Division Two ahead of the 2020/21 campaign getting under way.
“They are looking to build a proper club at Earsham and it is something I wanted to be involved in,” said Philpott, who will be in charge along with Justin Day.
“There is a superb committee there and it is a club that is geared up for senior football – that is the aim.
“Last season I felt like I had got a bit stale and lost a little bit of love for the game, but Earsham are buzzing after getting promoted and it has given me that buzz back.”
The club has made a number of additions during the off-season, including Andy LambChris Saunders and Asa Slater.
