Reeder collects ECB award
David Reeder of Topcroft Cricket Club was recently awarded the ECB Outstanding Contribution award for Norfolk 2018.
Reeder, who has been connected with the club for a number of years, was presented with his award by England batting coach Graham Thorpe at The Kia Oval during the summer.
Explaining why Reeder had been selected, Kieron Tuck, Norfolk Cricket Board development director, said: “David is a well-known and respected part of the Norfolk cricket scene and has been for many years, occupying many coaching and administrative roles with some success.
“Since qualifying as a Level 2 coach he has been instrumental in the rise of Topcroft CC, not only as a club that has risen through the leagues, but also one that has grasped the opportunities to engage with diverse participants within the community, and really make the club a fun place to be for players and family.
“The club have for some years had successful youth teams at all age groups that have largely been instigated and managed by David.
“The club also had the distinction of first identifying Jaik Mickleburgh, who went on to spend several successful years at Essex CCC.
“In addition to this, the club, under David’s direction and support, has set up and run a successful local youth cricket festival for clubs in the area across several age groups.”
