Marc Duszynski beats off the competition to win the Mixed Salire Cup at Diss Golf Club
There was an impressive turnout of 77 players who took part in the Mixed Salire Cup competition at Diss Golf Club on Saturday, May 4.
The playing conditions were quite challenging with rain, hail and wind throughout most of the competition, but that did not stop Marc Duszynski from coming out on top with a score of 38 Stableford points.
Duszynski – playing off a handicap of 4 – was the only player who played under his handicap.
Roger Greenacre, meanwhile, was runner-up with 35 Stableford points to his name and the winning lady was Kerry Enever, who ended the tournament with 34 Stableford points.
As for Nearest the Pin competition, Jane Izod clinched that in the female category, and Simon Palmer was victorious for the men.
Also at Diss Golf Club, the John Bell Classic was won by Clive Matthews with an excellent score of nett 64.
Andrew Mack came home in second position with a very good score of nett 67.
In the Ladies Peugeot Coronation Foursomes – which doubles up as a club qualifier event – was won by the combination of Ruth Ingram and Val Mendham.
Sarah Gotts won The Queen Mother’s Cup with 36 Stableford points and the winner of the Stableford Trophy was Ingram with a return of 35 Stableford points.
