AIMING HIGH: Diss can claw some points back on their title rivals with a win at Old Cooperians this weekend

Diss Rugby Club will aim to stretch their winning run to four matches when they visit struggling Old Cooperians tomorrow (2pm).

Roger Coombs’ charges travel to Essex this weekend in the rearranged fixture from Saturday, which was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Diss are currently eight points behind London Two North East leaders Chelmsford, but can put a dent in that gap with their game in hand tomorrow.

John Laurie and Warren Willby will both miss the trip to St Mary’s Lane, while the fitness of Josh Ludkin will be assessed before kick-off.

Coombs is set to shuffle his team around to compensate for those absentees, with Ryan Carter expected to slot into the back row alongside Michael Fuller.

Diss will also hand a first team debut to another of their young prospects, with 18-year-old Ewan Lawton set to be on the bench this weekend.

n In the Eastern Counties Cup, Diss Colts won 11-5 at Shelford.

Jacob Page scored an early try to give Diss the lead, before two Jo Wood penalties extended their advantage to 11-0.

Shelford threatened a comeback with a try of their own, but Diss secured the win.
