A superb second-half fight back saw Diss Town snatch a share of the spoils in a thrilling festive 3-3 draw against rivals Thetford Town.

Two goals from James Dean and a further strike from Halen Smith, following a Jacob Brown equaliser, saw Thetford take a 3-1 lead with just 15 minutes remaining.

However, the Tangerines rallied with goals from Danny Self and Ben Lewis drawing the home side level to claim a point which leaves them still bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table 11 points adrift of safety.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Norwich City saw their promotion ambitions dented as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat away at Reading.

A Hal Robson-Kanu penalty and Simon Cox strike saw the home side 2-0 ahead at the break with Bradley Johnson grabbing what proved to be a 71st minute consolation.

In contrast Ipswich Town remain second in the table following an emphatic 4-2 win away at Brentford.

A Daryl Murphy double and Paul Anderson strike had the visitors 3-0 up inside 30 minutes before Sam Saunders reduced the deficit with 10 minutes remaining.

Tommy Smith restored the three-goal advantage with eight minutes remaining before Saunders grabbed his second in the final moments.

The result leaves the Tractor Boys four points behind leaders Bournemouth with a game in hand ahead of facing Charlton Athletic tomorrow (Tuesday).
