Diss Ladies progress

Diss Golf Club ladies players took part in two recent competitions with bothteams fairing strongly.

The first saw a team made up of Marianne Haines, Philippa Bridges, Helena Honour, Jean Rickard, Sam Edwards and Joan Brown safely seal their progression in the Cranworth Knockout Cup competition with a 5-4 preliminary round win over Seckford at Ipswich Purdis Heath Golf Course.

The team will face Woodbridge in the first round at Thorpness Golf Course on June 25.

Meanwhile, Helen Lawson, Marianne Haines, Jenny Chamberlin and Helena Honour took part in the Kings Lynn Ladies Open and finished as runners-up in a field of 31.

They scored a superb 82 points to end up just a point behind overall winners Weston Park.
