Diss Town ended their torrid season in disappointment with a 1-0 defeat at home to Felixstowe and Walton United.

The result left the Tangerines finish second from bottom in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division as they now prepare for life in the First Division.

It also proved a disappointing weekend for Diss Cricket Club who suffered defeat in their opening Norfolk Alliance Premier Division match at Cromer.

The visitors posted 194 which proved no problem for the home side who surpassed the target with ease, reaching 197 for the loss of just two wickets.

Elsewhere, there was joy for rivals Old Buckenham (171-4) who clinched a welcome 20 points with victory over Sprowston (167-7).

In the Sky Bet Championship, Norwich signed off the season in style with an emphatic 4-2 win over Fulham at Carrow Road.

A Bradley Johnson double was added to by Nathan Redmond and substitute Graham Dorrans with Matt Smith and a Johnson own goal giving the visitors their goals.

The Canaries can now set their sets on a play-off semi-final derby day encounter with Ipswich on Saturday after the Tractor Boys sealed a sixth place finish despite a 3-2 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

Darryl Murphy struck twice but goals from Jordan Rhodes, Craig Conway and Rudy Gestede gifted Rovers the points. However, the visitors still clinched a play-off spot on goal difference.
