Diss Town boss Jon Abbott not planning to bring in any further new additions

After bringing in seven new players since his appointment earlier this month, Diss Town boss Jon Abbott is not anticipating any further additions for the time being.

Kingsley Barnes, Josh Lucraft, Reece Lanchester, Ashley Baxter, Harry Whayman, Connor Kerry and Charlie Webb have all been recruited by Abbott, who won his first two matches in charge before Tuesday’s hefty 6-0 defeat to higher-league Dereham Town in the Norfolk Senior Cup.

However, Abbott is now keen to work with the players currently at his disposal rather than make any more squad alterations.

“There will not be any more new signings in the foreseeable future,” said the former Scole United boss.

“It has been a busy time bringing in seven players but we felt that it needed that sort of boost.

“We are happy with the group we have got together and we do not need any more unless something jumps out at us.”

One player that will already be well known to the Brewers Green Lane faithful is Webb.

The striker has returned from a stint at East Harling and was a second-half substitute during the week.

Abbott added: “He will come in and improve us, giving us an extra attacking option.”
