Diss Town add new defender ahead of return to action

Diss Town boss Michael King has bolstered his defensive ranks with the signing of Billy Shaw.

Shaw, who can also play in midfield, has arrived at Brewers Green Lane from Anglian Combination Premier Division side Beccles Town.

King said: "Billy will come in primarily as a defender but he offers us some real versatility as well.

"We felt that we needed an extra body in the defensive area of the pitch and Billy is ideal. He's a good player and he's very mobile.

"He's got all of the attributes to be comfortable at our level and I'm confident he'll make the step up."

Shaw could make his Diss debut during Saturday's home Thurlow Nunn League First Division North clash against Sheringham (3pm).
