Diss suffer heavy defeat to Thetford Town in Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division One
Diss (196-9) suffered a 112-run defeat on the road at Thetford Town (308-5) on Saturday.
Having been inserted into the field by their hosts, Diss’ bowling attack was worked hard by Thetford’s Liam Conroy.
The opener hit 13 fours and three sixes on his way to a score of 104 runs before he fell to the bowling of Dan Taylor.
Adhi Chandran (61) and Matt Collinge (56) also scored half centuries as Thetford moved beyond the 300-run mark.
In terms of the bowling, Taylor led the way for Diss with figures of 2-61.
In reply, Taylor also opened the batting and contributed 45 runs to the chase alongside top scorer Oscar Skilleter, who weighed in with 47.
However, wickets fell at regular intervals as former Diss bowler Chris Cooper (3-21) and Chandran (3-36) made numerous inroads to secure the victory.
Diss, who are eighth in the Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division One table after two outings, will look to bounce back tomorrow when they welcome Horsford II to Rectory Meadow.
Like their hosts, Horsford’s second string have won one and lost the other of their two league fixtures in 2025.
