Diss battle back to snatch point in third consecutive draw

Diss Town scored a dramatic late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw with Mildenhall Town as they claimed a third successive draw.

After finding themselves 2-0 down after 59 minutes, the Tangerines rallied with Kyle Downes reducing the deficit after 67 minutes before Stefan Gilding struck with just two minutes remaining to snatch a point.

The result keeps Diss second from bottom in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, 10 points adrift of safety.

In the First Division Debenham LC made it back-to-back victories as they battled their way to a 2-1 success over Braintree Town Reserves.

The three points keeps the Hornets in the title chase as they remain third, six points behind table topping Long Melford.

Another side perfectly poised to challenge for promotion is Diss Rugby Club who remain two points off the summit in London Two North East after brushing aside promotion rivals Rochford Hundred in a 38-10 win.

Ipswich Town saw their Sky Bet Championship promotion ambitions dented as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat to rivals Derby County.
