Garboldisham 149-2 beat

Swardeston A 147

by eight wickets

Despite missing some key personnel, Garboldisham eased to victory over Swardeston A on Saturday.

The Foxes were without captain Danny Wash, as well as opening bowlers Gavin Barnes and Kieran Pask.

Put into bowl first, Garboldisham took wickets at regular intervals as the visitors were skittled out for just 147.

The pick of the home side’s bowlers was Luke Rackham, who ended with figures of 5-29 from seven overs.

In reply, Swardeston got off to the best possible start when Foxes opener Kristian Williman was caught second slip off the bowling of Alex Levinson for a single run.

However, Dan Constable and Henry Phoenix both managed to get through a tough period and come out the other side unscathed.

Constable showed touches of real class on his way to 41 in a partnership of 88 for the second wicket until he was removed by Matt Taylor.

Phoenix (56 not out) remained unbeaten, though, as the winning runs were struck alongside Jonny Wyatt (25).

Tomorrow, Garboldisham face a trip to an in-form Sprowston, who have won their last two games.
