Debenham LC head coach Stuart Reavell believes his side’s ‘confidence is back’ ahead of their Suffolk Senior Cup semi-final with Ipswich Valley Rangers tomorrow (3pm).

The Hornets are targeting a first-ever final appearance in the Suffolk Senior Cup this season, which would be their second final in two years following last season’s First Division Knockout Cup triumph.

“We had a solid result against Halstead on Saturday (1-1),” said Reavell. “We talked about how we needed to get on a roll before the semi-final, and our confidence has grown a little bit after the weekend.”

Debenham’s last-four opponents are currently sixth in the Suffolk and Ipswich League Senior Division table, and have yet to play a team from the Thurlow Nunn League during their route to the semi-finals.

However, Reavell is wary of the threat that the 2011/12 and 2012/13 Senior Division champions will pose to his side this weekend.

“We’ve watched them a few times,” said the Debenham head coach. “They’ve got three really good frontmen who are quick, and have Seth Duzgun who has played at a higher level.”

The Hornets return to the scene of their maiden senior cup final success from last May this weekend, as Woodbridge Town’s Notcutts Park hosts their semi-final clash with Valley Rangers.

“We hope to give a good account of ourselves,” said Reavell. “I want to have no regrets after the game. As we long as we put a shift in I’ll be happy.”
