Former AFC Sudbury and Mildenhall Town goalkeeper Sam Wright signs for Debenham LC

Debenham LC have secured the services of goalkeeper Sam Wright.

The 'keeper, who has played for AFC Sudbury at Step 4, links up with the Hornets after a spell between the posts with Mildenhall Town in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division.

Manager Guy Hayes said: "I am delighted to have Sam on board. He's made a handful of appearances at Step 4 for AFC Sudbury and more recently was Mildenhall Town's number one, so he will be a huge asset to us.

"His distribution is first class and is a calming influence at the back, which was evident on his debut yesterday (4-0 friendly win over Henley Athletic)."

Wright is the fifth new arrival at Debenham this summer, with Hayes hoping the additions can help to make his side competitive during the upcoming campaign.

Hayes' men will play their final friendly on Tuesday at higher-league Hadleigh United before the season starts on July 31 with a home clash against Huntingdon Town.
