An excellent turnout saw 17 Diss and District Racing Pigeon Club members from both sides of the Waveney send 341 birds to Littlehampton in West Sussex last Saturday.
Flying 136 miles, Brian Brooks from Carleton Rode was dominant, taking four of the first five positions, including top spot. His winning pigeon returned home in three hours and thirteen minutes, with a velocity of 1,243 yards per minute.
Brooks was also second with the unfortunate George and James Burrows just two yards behind in third, while Steve Kaschner, Robert Griffin, Andrew Daniels and Brian Meen also secured placements in the top ten.
