Framlingham Town manager Liam Abraham keeping grounded after blistering start to Thurlow Nunn League First Division campaign

Framlingham Town manager Liam Abraham insists he’s ‘not getting carried away’ in the wake of his side’s blistering start to their Thurlow Nunn League First Division North campaign, with five wins from their opening five games.

After suffering back-to-back play-off semi-final heartbreaks, including last season’s penalty defeat to Harwich & Parkeston, the Castlemen are showing no symptoms of a hangover, setting the early pace in the opening two month.

The Badingham Road outfit bolstered their already strong squad in the summer bringing in Alfie Norman, Johnny Kerridge, Edward Barker and Archie Exworth, who is the younger brother of George.

“We’ve started very similar to how we did last season so we’re really happy with how we’re looking and how the recruits have settled in,” said Abraham.

Scoring goals for fun, Framlingham have netted 20 times already this campaign including 12 in their last two games.

They comfortably saw off Haverhill Rovers 6-0 over at The New Croft on Saturday thanks to two penalties from Josh Lucraft, a brace from Archie Exworth and goals from new signings Kerridge and Barker.

Fram will host Stanway Pegasus tomorrow (3pm) who have won four of their five opening matches, tasting defeat just once, to sit one place and three points below them.

This game has the markings of a goal-fest as the second-place outfit have scored 22 goals so far this campaign.

“From our point of view, we hope there aren’t a lot of goals,” said Abraham.

“We had someone watch Stanway Pegasus’ game against Haverhill on Tuesday night (1-0) and while it wasn’t their most convincing win, they looked really strong and we will be tested at the back considerably.”

Framlingham went on to win the Suffolk Senior Cup after their play-off defeat last season and the desire for promotion and possible league silverware is burning bright.
