Harleston Town boosted on and off the pitch

It has been a positive weekend for Harleston Town on and off the pitch.

On the playing front, the club has confirmed captain Nathan Russell and midfielder Sam Borrer have both committed themselves for the 2020/21 season.

Russell made 24 appearances for the Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Premier Division outfit before Covid-19 forced an early end to the previous campaign, while Borrer – formerly of Dereham Town – featured on 19 occasions.

And in a further boost, after several years of planning and discussions, floodlight columns have been installed at the Recreation Ground.

The absence of floodlights was one of the reasons as to why the club was relegated from the Thurlow Nunn League in 2019 on ground grading issues, but this latest development will help to bring them up to the necessary standard.
