Big numbers for dance festival

More than 260 four and five-year-olds took part in a Key Stage One Dance Festival at Diss High School.

The primary school pupils — from Roydon, Scole, Tivetshall, Burston, St Andrews, All Saints, Garboldisham and Dickleburgh — were taught a small routine where they linked slides, turns, toe and heel tapping, clapping, jumps and a variety of step patterns.

Dance leaders from the high school taught the pupils a short routine, which they practiced and then performed to everyone.

This was a great leadership opportunity for the students from the high school as they helped to choreograph the routine and encouraged the pupils to perform some difficult moves.

Grace Goddard, Emma Goldsmith (two of the high school’s Higher Sports Leaders) and Lauren Dunning led the session. All of the pupils were presented with a certificate for taking part.
