Mellis Cricket Club’s Bailey Farrant has re-written the record books at Brandeston Hall after hitting a new highest score of 133 not out for his school.

The innings, which contained 27 fours and was the youngster’s first century, ironically also beats the record held by former Mellis batsman Kristian Williman when he attended the school.

Left handed opener Farrant also represents Suffolk County Cricket Club and is enjoying a good run of form including scoring 70 against Huntingdonshire, his top county score to date.

Farrant has been playing for Mellis Cricket Club since he was seven years old and was selected for the county squad as a 10 year old.
