Thomas Willett in England Boxing National Junior Championship action for Attleborough Boxing Club while trio take part in England Boxing Programme

Attleborough Boxing Club’s Thomas Willett returns to action this weekend in the England Boxing National Junior Championships with a spot in the semi-finals up for grabs.

The 14-year-old booked his place in the quarter-finals of the national competition with a unanimous decision victory over March’s Jack Whitby earlier this month.

And now the Attleborough member takes on Shyian Uddin, from Mamba Gym, in Hemel Hempstead, at the Brentwood Centre this Sunday.

Willett’s fellow club-mate Finn Harris has received a bye through the quarter-finals and is already assured of a place in the finals in Wigan next week.

Elsewhere, three Attleborough boxers made the trip to Sheffield last weekend as part of the England Boxing Women’s Aspire Programme.

Maisie Holden, Billy Draganescu and Kiera (surname witheld) were among the Eastern Counties contingent of boxers selected for the country-wide programme.

The trio took part in a day of technical work with different coaches and also got plenty of rounds of sparring in with other girls that had been selected from all over England.

The programme consists of three sessions with the next two to be held later this year in June and August.
