Attleborough Town looking to go top of the Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division One table with win over Wymondham Town
Attleborough Town manager Martyn Fuller has admitted that his side need to win tomorrow’s top-of-the-table clash at home against Wymondham Town (2pm).
Last weekend’s 5-0 victory at the expense of Kirkley & Pakefield Reserves moved Attleborough up to second in the Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division One table, one point adrift of table-topping Wymondham with a game in hand.
Wymondham beat Attleborough 3-2 when the sides met in the reverse fixture three weeks ago, but Fuller is hopeful his men can turn the tables this time around – and jump to the top of the pile in the process.
“It is probably fair to say we feel like we owe them one after they beat us recently,” said Fuller.
“We played quite well over there and I think they would admit we deserved a draw from the game.
“We have to win this game at the weekend, you always do when you have big games like this at home. A draw would not be a disaster but it is not great.
“There is probably five teams –Stalham, Yelverton, Aylsham, Wymondham and ourselves – that are going to be in contention, so these sort of games against each other are important.
“The start to the season has been really positive and a win on Saturday would keep that going.”
Alastair Beales will miss the Wymondham encounter through injury but Callum Kindred has returned to fitness and should feature in the squad.
