Harleston Town move to the Anglian Combination Premier Division summit
Harleston Town moved to the top of the Anglian Combination Premier Division thanks to Saturday's 4-0 victory over Norwich CEYMS.
Goals from Ollie Ebbage, Nathan Stone, Ryan Swift and Ryan Crisp got the job done for Harleston, who have gone above second-placed UEA on goal difference with a game in hand.
It was also an afternoon in which Town continued their good run of form in front of goal, having now found the back of the net on 26 occasions during their last five outings.
Nicky Howell and Jon Abbott's men will return to action on Boxing Day at home against Mundford (12pm).
* Long Stratton recorded a 4-1 home victory over third-placed Caister.
A first-half brace from Ryan Tebble put Stratton in the ascendancy before Charlie Deakin and Sam Page completed the scoring after the restart.
The win moved Stratton up to seventh ahead of their return to action at home against Blofield United on January 2 (1.30pm).
* Scole United made it back-to-back wins as they overcame Mundford 2-1.
For the second weekend running Josh Lucraft played a starring for Scole, setting up the opening goal for Jake McDowell and then scoring the second himself.
The visitors halved the deficit through Jordan Cantwell – brother of Norwich City midfielder Todd – in the second half, but Scole held out to secure all three points on their final outing of 2020.
Lee Sturgeon's 11th-placed side will next be in action on January 2 at Acle United (1.30pm).
* A brace from Danny Camish helped Attleborough Town to wrap up the year with a 4-2 home victory over Gorleston Reserves.
Kieran Brown and Ryan Fuller were also on target for Attleborough, who are second in Division One, two points adrift of table-topping Heacham having played a game more.
By chance, their next opponents will be Heacham away from home on January 2 (1.30pm).
* East Harling are up to fourth following a 4-0 win on the road at Watton United.
Callum Bray (2), Shaun Hunsdon and recent arrival Elliot Gibson were all on target for the Greens, who will host Yelverton on January 2 (1.30pm).
