A sell-out crowd is expected in the Norfolk venue tomorrow night (8pm), with head coach Jon Dennis excited to get another season under way.

“It’s very good that people are showing support from the local town,” said the recently-crowned Volunteer Coach of the Year at the Norfolk Sports Awards.

“Some are competing for the first time on a home show, while we’ve also got the likes of Connor Holloway, Michael Jordan and Roni Dean in action on the night.”

Holloway is back in the ring for the first time since missing out on a national title at York Hall earlier this month.

Jordan and Dean both reached the latter stages of national competitions during the year.

“Connor narrowly missed out on a national title at York Hall recently, and he’s got a return bout against a Manchester boxer he lost to before.

“I’m tremendously proud of all the boxers who are competing. Win or lose they are all champions.”

Attleborough’s success in the ring has also been matched off it, with the club attracting two principal sponsors for the 2015-16 season.

“We are very lucky to have Rogers and Norton Solicitors and Donna Kissinger Estate Agents on board,” Dennis said.

“They provide fantastic support to the club and help us financially, buying new tracksuits for the kids and the coaches and helping with the running costs involved.”

n Head coach Jon Dennis was presented with the Volunteer Coach of the Year award at the Norfolk Sports Awards last week.

The club’s staff headed to the Forum in Norwich to support Dennis, who had been shortlisted as a finalist for the award.

Dennis was chosen by the judges to take home the prize, and Attleborough chairman Colin Kilby heaped praise on the club’s head coach.

“I would like to congratulate Jon on winning this fantastic award,” Kilby said. “As chairman I couldn’t be prouder for Jon.

“It’s a just reward for the amount of hours he puts in. The club wouldn’t be what it is without people like Jon”.
