Diss Town manager Jon Abbott expecting plenty of changes in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North table
Jon Abbott has admitted he is not too concerned about Diss Town’s current position, despite dropping out of the promotion places last weekend, writes Alex Moss.
The Tangerines slipped out of the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North’s top four following a 3-0 home defeat to Ipswich Wanderers on Saturday.
And while the gap between fourth-placed Norwich CBS and Sheringham, in seventh, is only three points, Diss boss Abbott has said he expects the table to continue to change frequently during the rest of the season.
“I was disappointed with the way we played last Saturday,” he said. “We got what we deserved.
“The performance was the most disappointing thing, because against Mulbarton (1-0 defeat) the weekend before we played well.
“I expect the top four and the places below that to change frequently until the end of the season.
“There are teams up there who have got to play each other, so I expect that top four to keep changing.”
Diss (6th), along with Norwich, are without a game this weekend, with Abbott’s men due to return to action with a trip to Fakenham Town on January 18.
“Having the week break you never know how it’s going to play out,” he said. “It’s good to have a week off for our injured players, that’s all I would say about it.”
Aarron Taylor is likely to return next week, while Angus Mackie should also be fit.
