Former Cambridge United and Norwich City striker Danny Crow departs management role at Harleston Town

Manager Danny Crow and his assistant Tom Marsden have departed Harleston Town.

The news was announced following the Magpies’ 1-0 Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division defeat at home to leaders Fakenham Town on Saturday.

The former Norwich City and Cambridge United striker was appointed as Harleston boss in May 2022 and guided them to third place in the Premier Division in his first season in the dugout – their highest ever finish.

Last term, the Magpies finished four points outside of the play-off places, which Crow deemed a failure, and Harleston currently sit fourth from bottom with two wins from their opening 12 matches of the campaign.

A statement on the club’s website read: “Harleston Town Football Club have to announce that manager Danny Crow and assistant manager Tom Marsden have left the club.

“As a club, not only have we had two people that have taken our club to a new level but two great friends to the players, committee and the fans.

“Danny and Tom have been a massive part of the club’s history and we thank them so much for their hard work and efforts.”

A statement from Crow said: “I would like to thank all the players past and present over the past 102 games.

“Thank you to Adam Mullin (chairman) for his help and support throughout our time, it’s been a journey and one that i am proud of to have lead the club for 100 games plus.

“I would also like to thank Gavin Durham and Duane Smith for their help on matchdays.

Harleston confirmed they will make a further statement in the coming days.
