Wortham’s Howard Nurseries has Yorkshire influence for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show entry
A Wortham-based plant wholesaler has been busy preparing their entry for the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show.
Howard Nurseries, off Bury Road, were successful at the 2015 event, scooping a gold with their Cedric Morris Irises.
For this year, the firm has been busy growing for a garden, designed by Matthew Wilson, that can be visited on the Main Avenue at the 2016 show which runs from May 24-28.
The garden, sponsored by ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ takes inspiration from the best of the county and recreates elements of the east window of York Minster.
A replica of the east window in the garden will be 3.3 metres high and 4.5 metres wide, and the series of beds in the garden have been planted to replicate the colours of the stained glass.
