An Isleham mother is celebrating after being nominated for a top business award.

Emma Joy-Staines of Kennedy Road, runs Forever Prosperity International Group with her husband Leigh, and they have been nominated for the Best Direct Sales Independent Representative category of the awards, run by the mumandworking.co.uk website.

The site aims to help parents find business opportunities and franchises to help them fit their work around their families. Emma, 30, runs her business, which sells products based on aloe-vera, as a franchise for Forever Living Products. Emma does the marketing and management while Leigh, 33, takes care of the admin and research side. She began the business as a side venture while working in London as an arts fund-raiser.

After starting off small, she now manages a team of 240. Emma said: “We found the company and some products helped my husband who is an amputee and has been very poorly. I just adore it. It is about working with people and motivating and coaching and developing them. Some people have depression and anxiety and it gives them confidence and a new start.”

Emma added: “I am a mum to two children, Teddy and Sally, who are four and two. My husband and I built the business up together to reach the level at which I could work permanently from home, which was something I never thought possible, particularly with a disabled husband.”

Emma and Leigh are now hoping they will be successful at the awards ceremony in September in London.
