Two people were taken to hospital after a car and lorry were involved in a crash in Withersdale Street on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident, between a Volkswagen and a lorry, on the B1123 shortly before 5pm.

Three fire crews from Suffolk and two from Norfolk attended, cutting one person free from a vehicle.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) were also at the scene.

Two patients were assessed. One woman was treated for a suspected fractured leg and pelvic injury and was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

A man was also treated for chest injuries, and taken to the NNUH via land ambulance.
