Bosses JD Wetherspoon have reiterated their commitment to investing in the area.

Wetherspoon has been granted permission to build a two-storey pub and restaurant in Kings Head Yard, off Mere Street, in Diss.

The plans include a striking curved building, featuring a mezzanine level and balcony with views across the Mere.

The pub giant announced in December that work on the £2.7 million project would start in March, but no ground has yet been broken.

Commenting on the delay, JD Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We have not exchanged on the purchase, so there are no dates for work to start yet.

“We are very keen, however, to develop a pub on the site.”
