Man jailed for more than four years after stabbing another in Norwich on two occasions

A man has been sentenced to over four years in prison after stabbing another on two separate occasions in Norwich.

Riley Mckinley-Green, 18, and of HMP, Norwich appeared before Norwich Crown Court today (April 8) having pleaded guilty to two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and affray at an earlier hearing. He was jailed for four years and nine months.

This follows an assault in Norwich on December 18, last year, where officers were called to Brazengate at 4.45pm following reports that a man had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital having suffered six stab wounds to his arms, legs and chest which required surgery.

Doctors commented that the victim was lucky to be alive with some wounds being dangerously close to major arteries.

When speaking to police, the victim also stated he had been stabbed by the same person four days previously in Castle Mall on the evening of December 14.

The suspect, Mckinley-Green, was arrested at a nearby address and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Further CCTV enquiries also identified Mckinley-Green as being the suspect in an affray on Hall Road, Norwich on December 13, where a boy in his late teens had been threatened by him whilst Mckinley-Green was in possession of a knife.

He was later charged and remanded into custody for all three offences.

Investigating officer DC Cameron Brown said “Mckinley-Green was intent on being violent and involved himself in a number of incidents which could have ended someone’s life.

“Norfolk Police will not stand for knife crime in our county. We work tirelessly to remove weapons and dangerous individuals from our streets and will continue to do so.”
