‘We are incredibly proud’: Wortham Primary School celebrates outstanding Ofsted
A Suffolk village school that ‘stretches pupils’ learning beyond national expectations’ has been given the top grade by Ofsted.
The report from the educational watchdog awarded Wortham Primary School, which is part of the All Saints Schools Trust, outstanding for leadership and management, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and early years provisions, as well as overall.
The Bury Road school’s ambitious curriculum, innovative and well-organised lessons and tailored support for them to achieve their full potential were all highlighted in the report.
Claire Flatman, executive headteacher and director of education of the trust and Hayley Clarke, head of school, expressed their delight at the findings.
The pair said: “We are incredibly proud of the dedication and commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and support of our parents in achieving this outstanding grade.
“This report is a testament to the hard work and passion that everyone brings to this school every day.
“Our focus has always been on providing an inclusive and stimulating environment where every child can thrive, and we are thrilled to see this reflected in Ofsted’s recognition.”
Inspectors of the school also said that all pupils, including those with SEND, were getting the ‘support they need to succeed’.
Pupils were also seen to be enthusiastic about reading during and that the varied texts prompted ‘deep discussions about social and moral issues’.
