Banham Zoo, Norfolk, has announced the opening of a new tiger territory platform

Banham Zoo has announced the opening of a new tiger territory platform.

The platform, for its Amur tigers, has been enabled through the support of UK Power Networks supplier, Scanpole, and MKM Building Supplies.

The project cost, with a total value of £27,000, was fully donated by the companies and marks the official launch of Zoological Society of East Anglia’s new corporate partnership programme, as part of its ‘Together for Wildlife’ campaign.

Scanpole, donated specially crafted utility poles for the climbing structure, and Norwich based MKM Building Supplies provided the labour, materials, and equipment needed for construction.

The new platform enhances the habitat for tigers – Mishka and her two sons, Kash and Kumi – part of the European Breeding Programme for this critically endangered species.

The habitat improvements were completed in mid-October and are now open for public viewing, with ongoing sponsorship by MKM Building Supplies.
