Closure of Bunwell Street in Bunwell to fix historic flood issues extended for a second time

The closure of a section of village road to address historical flooding issues has been extended for a second time.

Bunwell Street in Bunwell was temporarily closed to traffic between its junction with Mile Road and Hall Road to its junction with North Road from July 15.

Initially it was meant to reopen on September 27, but this was extended to December 6.

But now, Norfolk County Council has said it will be extending it for another week.

A council spokesperson said: “This extension is necessary to ensure proper reinstatement of asphalt and to complete finishing touches to the drainage works.

“The final surfacing is scheduled for December 12, therefore we expect all the traffic management removed on December 13.

“The county council thanks people for their patience while this drainage improvement work is carried out.”
