UPDATED: Diss rail disruption to last until early hours of tomorrow
Continuing issues with overhead power line damage are resulting in delays of about 40 minutes on the Norwich to London mainline, which stops at Diss.
Operator Abellio Greater Anglia now states that high winds are making the job of fixing the damage more difficult for Network Rail engineers. Service is now not expected to be back to normal until 5am tomorrow morning.
Trains are having to run on a single line between Diss and Stowmarket.
Customers are being advised to travel via Cambridge, although a rail replacement bus service is in place between Stowmarket and Norwich.
Greater Anglia tickets are being accepted on London Underground services between Liverpool Street and King’s Cross, Great Northern train services between London King’s Cross and Ely, and on East Midlands Trains services between Ely and Norwich, in both directions until further notice.
Customers with advance purchase tickets may travel on any alternative train services, if the designated train does not run.
