A flood alert issued on the River Waveney is no longer in force, the Environment Agency has confirmed.
The Environment Agency issued the alert, which is not as severe as a Flood Warning, yesterday as the river level had risen and more heavy rain was expected.
But the alert, which covered the river all the way to Ellingham, was removed this morning.
An alert on the River Deben, from and including Debenham and Bromeswell, which was issued yesterday, has also been removed as of this morning.
A flood alert is the Environment Agency’s early notification of possible flooding. A flood warning, which had not been issued on the Waveney, is put in place if flooding is likely or imminent.
A flood alert was last in place on the same section of the Waveney for a day in February 2015.
