TRAVEL NEWS: Palgrave to be disrupted by roadworks for more than two weeks

Roads in Palgrave are set to be disrupted in the New Year to allow for drainage improvements to take place.

The Green will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday, January 3, and then Lows Lane will be closed until the works at each point are completed.

Closure points will be at Lion Road and Upper Rose Lane to the south and immediately past Millway Lane to the north.

Works are due to be completed by January 20.

A diversion will be in place, via Upper and Lower Rose Lane, Victoria Road, Park Road, Denmark Street (Fair Green) and Denmark Hill.

Vehicular access to premises off The Green and Lows Lane will be maintained as far as possible during the works, and pedestrian access to The Lows footpath will be maintained at all times.

The works are to improve draining and eliminate the risk of flooding near the pond and of properties in Goolds Close. Additional gullies and a new pipe under the main road will be installed, and then the pipeline will be continued in a trench down Lows Lane.
