Popular Diss ghost walks are back tomorrow and August 16

Spooky stories will be brought to life in spirited walks taking place in Diss tomorrow and next weekend.

The next two Saturdays see the return of Diss Museum’s popular ghost walks, taking visitors on an alternative tour of the town.

First launched as a one-off event two years ago, the ghost walks have proved so popular they have – due to demand – been repeated several times since.

This summer’s walks, taking place tomorrow and again next Saturday, August 16, start at the south end of the Market Place at 7pm, with a verbal tour of spooky sites by museum manager Basil Abbott.

Visitors will then be led through the churchyard and up the Heritage Triangle to meet historical figures and notorious characters from the town’s past.

These include Tudor poet John Skelton, murder victims and members of the Manning family.

Emphasing the history of Diss, Basil will aim to enlighten and entertain along the journey.

The tour will end at about 9pm with light refreshments outside the museum and a chance to see the displays inside.

Tickets, costing £5 each, are available from Sanda’s, opposite the museum.
